One Day, A Dream! (Part 1)

Commissioner Jim Knaggs has recently published a visionary statement via the USA Western Territory. I was one out of a cast of several invited to write a chapter on one of the 35 vision statements contained therein. Mine is as follows:
‘ONE DAY! …that our systems would be less restrictive and more imaginative in order to accommodate the new things God wants to do among us.’
I begin with this opening paragraph: “First, let me applaud the Commissioner for including this pesky vision in his “One Day” dream. And for the courage of asking me to write about it!”

CHARGE!

Charge!

An earlier post here outlines an issue of “Journal of Aggressive Christianity” that I edited. Worth a read if you haven’t already: http://joenoland.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html (Scroll down to August 3).

Also the latest JAC issue features an article written by General Paul (Rtd) and Commissioner Kay Rader titled, “A Conversation About Salvation Army Officership.” This was to be part of the previous issue and will be a chapter in the book when published. It too is well worth a read: http://www.armybarmy.com/jac.html

Kroc & Freeman!

I've been a bit dilatory with this blog lately. Too much going on right now and I'm supposed to be retired! The following four items are worth your time.

Freddy Freeman, Salvationist from the Tustin Ranch Corps, Southern California to be  opening day first basemen for the Atlanta Braves.

Major John Chamness, Coeur d'Alene Kroc Center, shares the following videos. Good stuff.

DONT STOP BELIEVING:

I HEART MY JOB:

Major's Guy and Denise Hawk share the following progress report on the Phoenix South Mountain Kroc Center. We were with them a couple of weekends ago and when I catch up will blog about the experience. A lot of nostalgia there.
