The Aloha of Holiness!

This logo was designed by Rob Noland and is one of my alternative “WARdrobe: Army Apparel” choices while in the islands or any other warm weather climate for that matter.

In Hawaiian tradition, these lei (garlands) were worn by ancient Hawaiians to beautify themselves and distinguish themselves from others. Among other sacred uses, it was used to signify a peace agreement between opposing chiefs.

The Lei greeting, when presented and accepted, has come to signify a mutual feeling of Aloha: welcome, peace, unconditional love. In TSA parlance it signifies holiness, beautifying ourselves with with the Lei of Aloha, thereby distinguishing ourselves as in the world, but separate from it. The Lei, draped over the Crest represents this Aloha of Holiness, a beautiful and meaningful expression, I think.

ebook!

This is my latest creative work published as an ebook: http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/14719 Download for a free preview (50% of the book), and for a mere pittance, you can read the conclusion, pulling it all together, all meager proceeds going toward furthering "The Revolution!" Please share with those whom you think might benefit. Thanks.

Following is a description:

Written in the form of an allegory and creatively illustrated, this book begins with a fresh voice, a new song, a love song emerging out of the rubble – a crumbling institution, in need of restitution, Revolution!

It’s Minstrel guided narrative takes the reader, entertainingly, inspirationally and educationally, through the life cycle of an institution, be it familial, corporate, political or ecclesiastical in nature. Along the way, danger signs are posted at critical change points within the cycle, designed as warning signals for the institutional traveler. How one responds to change is a predictor of whether or not the institution will rise or fall.

This little parabolic adventure is about leadership and the dangers of monument building – where process, bigness, status quo and control become more important than the mission. The world today is replete with examples, a sampling of them suggested in the Postlude. Among them are Google, Microsoft, General Motors, Catholicism and Protestantism. Discover where you and your institution(s) fit within the cycle?

Out of the Rubble…Revolution! is “An Allegory of Monumental Disproportions” and a “must” resource for leaderships seminars, training and conferences at every level. And it makes an insightful bedside companion no matter where you fit in the corporate- institutional hierarchy.
